DOCTOR MARTENS. In 1945, a town near Munich, the Dr. Klaus Maertens created boots of rubber sole with air chamber, the genuine and revolutionary "air cushion sole", to provide lightening to a friend of him who had and accident while skiing.

In year 1960, the Dr. K. Maertens and his friend decided to make the boots in the town of Wollaston, in the county of Northamptonshire, England, with the commercial name of Dr. Martens.

The first boot that was launched was the "1460", that continues being a classic at present.

Dr. Martens boots are an icon and a symbol of identity in the diverse cultural movements that have arisen in England in the last 30 years; from skinhead and mod to the punk rock and grunge of the 90's.
